As a cold front gets ready to move into the Suncoast, we will see the transition from warm and sunny conditions to mostly cloudy, foggy and thunderstorms later today. Our temperatures will start to cool off over the weekend.
Temperatures today will be in the mid 70's and as the front comes through later this afternoon, we will see showers off and on this morning and then later this afternoon, between 3 and 5 pm. We will see a 60%-70% chance of showers and thunderstorms moving through the area during that time. The winds will pick up with the passage of the front. Winds out of the SSE at 15 mph gusting up to 22 mph this afternoon.
A Dense Fog Alert will be in effect for mariners until noon today. Winds are out of the S at 15 knots, increasing to 15-20 kts late in the day. Bay and inland waters are choppy.
