Sarasota FL (WWSB) - Nate is expected to move through the NW Caribbean on Friday gaining strength as it moves toward the Gulf of Mexico.
Right now all the models take it toward the coast of Louisiana near New Orleans. There are now watches issued for the Gulf Coast States in the U.S.. We are not included in any of the watches at this time.
It looks like we will see some wave action and some dangerous rip currents for area beaches generated by Nate as it moves through the Central Gulf.
We will see elevated rain chances over the weekend due to an abundance of tropical moisture. It does not look like we will see any feeder bands as they should be mainly offshore.
Expect mostly cloudy skies on Friday by the afternoon with a good chance for showers and thunderstorms scattered about.
