FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Much better weekend ahead with little chance for rain

Sarasota, FL (WWSB) - Last weekend we were dealing with Irma, this weekend much more tranquil weather.

High pressure is expected to build in and bring a fairly nice weekend with little chance for showers and storms.   We may see an increase in cloudiness today due to a trough of low pressure out in the Gulf.  The rain chance is only at 20% for some late day storms.

Sunday bring partly cloudy skies and highs near 90, with less than a 20% chance for storms.   It is expected to stay that way through Tuesday of next week and then only a slight chance of P.M. storms comes back into the forecast beginning Wednesday.

In the tropics, Jose continues to move through the Atlantic and eventually right through the alley way between Bermuda and the Mid-Atlantic coast States.  There is still a chance that it may impact the NE U.S. but it is still too early to tell.

Tropical disturbance number 1 is located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antillies and will develop into the 13th named storm of the season as it pushes westward.  This one bears watching as it will have an impact on the Lesser Antillies.

The one behind it, TD 14, will become Lee over the weekend and looks to stay out over the open waters of the Atlantic.

Enjoy the weekend.
