FIRST ALERT WEATHER: A few a.m. coastal showers possible on Tuesday as rain chances stay low

SARASOTA CO. FL (WWSB) - Your First Alert Forecast is calling for only limited showers and isolated thunderstorms on Tuesday due to dry air and a west wind.

Some drier air has moved into the Suncoast in the upper levels of the atmosphere.  This will limit the number of storms and their intensity on Tuesday similar to what we saw yesterday.

With this kind of set up we can expect only a few isolated showers along the coast in the morning and early afternoon and then the focus will be mainly inland areas later in the day.

Highs will be in the low 90s and lows in the upper 70s.

In the tropics we continue to watch Gert move away from Florida and is expected to stay away from the US.

Another area of concern is in the Central Atlantic. This one has a good chance of developing over the next 5 days (60%).

There is also one right behind it that has a 30% chance of developing. Neither of the two will have any impact on land over the next several days.

Now is a good time to visit our First Alert Weather hurricane guide on MySuncoast.com.
