A hot and fairly dry weekend ahead

Sarasota, CO. FL (WWSB) - High pressure continues to hold strong over the Suncoast.

This system along with slightly drier air will put a cap on our normal afternoon and evening thunderstorm pattern.

We will see a few coastal showers in the morning and then mainly inland storms later in the day.

Highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s. Expect the heat index to be in the low 100's through the afternoon hours.

The rain chance is at 30% both on Saturday and Sunday.

There are two disturbances in the Atlantic basin that have a good chance of developing over the next 5 days. The one in the Caribbean is expected to stay to our south, while the one in the Central Atlantic will be moving West over the next 5 days and having no impact on any land areas any time soon.

Have a great weekend.
