SARASOTA (WWSB) - A cold front just off the coast could bring a some severe thunderstorms onshore this evening. The front is slowly moving towards the east and have lots embedded thunderstorms some of which could be severe. Severe storms will produce strong winds, heavy downpours, lots of lighting and a possible tornado. South winds are also breezy ahead of this front at 20 mph with guts to 40. The front will pass over the Suncoast in the overnight hours, low 66. Condition improve by Saturday morning as showers wrap up. By afternoon skies will be mostly cloudy, high 72. Sunday is a great day with lots of sunshine, lights winds and low humidity, high 71.
