Legacy of Valor campaign expands reach with new partnerships

SARASOTA, FL. - Two months after the kickoff of the Legacy of Valor campaign, The Patterson Foundation has announced more than a dozen new community partners that will honor veterans, inspire patriotism and pass freedom on to others.

While many of the new partners are based in Manatee County, including Realize Bradenton and the South Florida Museum, the expansion also includes Sarasota-based partners, such as Thunder by The Bay and the Baltimore Orioles.

With more than 30 partners on board, the Legacy of Valor campaign now touches the four-county region – Sarasota,

Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto – and has the potential to reach more than 900,000 residents – including thousands of veterans (more than 48,000 in Sarasota alone) – and additional visitors during the yearlong series of events and

activities that will culminate in spring 2014.

“The growth of the Legacy of Valor campaign will encourage our region to do more to honor those who have served and are serving – as well as their families,” said Debra Jacobs, president and CEO of The Patterson Foundation.

“These partnerships are creating new realities in the ways our community connects with veterans and encourages

everyone to participate by paying it forward – whether through time, talent or treasure.”

Launched by The Patterson Foundation in April, the Legacy of Valor campaign highlights community-driven

partnerships and events that educate, build enthusiasm and focus the community to honor and support veterans and their families.
