Venice and North Port remember 9/11

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL - 9/11 ceremonies have wrapped up in Venice and North Port. This morning hundreds came out to both locations to pay their respects.

Venice resident Tom Murphy's son Patrick Sean was in the north tower when the plane hit. He never came out. Tom says the ceremonies help "It's a hard day for us and our families but we have many friends here and lot of folks we don't know who come out for this."

In North Port they also saluted those who have died since the attacks Master Sergeant Rene Marquis is currently stationed in the special operations unit Macdill Air Force Base In Tampa. "I have lost many friends in combat since this has started. It's continuing. It will continue."
