I am lucky enough to be one of Dr. Vogelbaum's patients. He used the intraoperative imaging and 5-ALA in about a 6 hour surgery just one week ago. and I am doing better than fine in recovery. I was only in the Cleveland Clinic from Wednesday (surgery) and home Friday!
This was the second surgery (done by other neurosurgeons) to remove as much of the Stage 4 GBM as possible. While I was reluctant to go though another procedure I am thrilled to have Dr. Vogelbaum and his team on my side. At 60 years old, I did not have seizures or pain, in fact my symptoms were mild by comparison, but glioblastoma multiforma must be taken seriously.
I don't know what the future holds, but I am certain there will be a rich future for my family and me. This has also given my life a new course in trying to help others facing this disease. We are a small but widely ranging fraternity and long survival rates are steadily becoming the norm thanks to the work and dedication of Dr. Vogelbaum and others. 11 months ago
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) removed seven reptiles from an unlicensed man last week. FWC investigators charged Nick Mitchell with unlawful possession of seven venomous reptiles and several other violations related to the care, keeping and labeling of his animals. The animals, including a gila monster, black monocled cobra, rhino viper, dusky pygmy rattlesnake, black neck spitting cobra and two banded cobras, were seized and placed at a local licensed facility.
