MYAKKA CITY, FL (WWSB)- Law enforcement sources confirm to ABC7 that an extensive search for several "large cats" reported near Myakka City, has not turned up any tigers.

Officials say at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday, The Manatee County Sheriff's Office received a call about someone seeing multiple large cats, possibly tigers, off Crosby Road in Eastern Manatee County.

MCSO does not have reports of anyone in that area who is missing tigers. Big Cat Habitat, in Sarasota County, confirmed that all of their animals are accounted for and all cages are secure.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating.  Anyone who has information is asked to call either MCSO or FWC.
