A cold front that moves past the Suncoast later today will first bring a chance of showers. The rainfall will should be mostly light in nature with clearing late in the day. Winds will be out of the south and gusty. This will keep the highs warm today with some inland temperatures cracking the 80 mark. Along the coast the highs should be in the mid to upper 70's.

SARASOTA, Fla. - Sunday evening The Positive Life Network hosted an event on the Suncoast called Speak Out Sarasota to inspire awareness and change in the community. The event included musical presentations, speeches and art. Fifteen individuals each gave a seven minute speech on topics ranging from politics, world issues and community issues. President and CEO of Positive Life Network, Ashley Dangerfield, said "It's really important in our community that people stand up, speak out and talk about those issues that plague our society, but also to help to inspire those to do more, to take more action and to participate, and to kind of come together and just share". The group says their goal is to bring the community together and change lives with their messages.
MYAKKA, Fla. - The Myakka City Historical Society partnered with the Lippizan Horses Sunday to raise money for the Old Myakka School House. Many enjoyed a 'taste of Myakka' with fried green tomatoes, gator bites and homemade ice cream. The white stallion horses that performed were bred for the Hapsburg Royal Family of Austria for use during wars dating back to the 16th Century. Currently the horses travel the country putting on shows, and some Suncoast residents had the opportunity to see that show on Sunday. President of the Myakka Historical Society, Marilyn Coker, said "I think that the library and the spaces that the school will provide for activities for the community are a much needed resource for us." An estimated $225,000 is still needed to complete the project.
