Kayaker paddles 4000 miles, arrives in Key West

SARASOTA, Fla. - Two kayakers paddled out of Osprey Wednesday and headed for Key West as they near completion of a 3-year, 11,700 mile journey across North America.

KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) -- A kayaker has arrived in Key West after paddling some 4,000 miles -- from one of the northernmost spots in the U.S. to its southernmost city.

We got a sobering reminder of the dangers of disgarded fishing line to Suncoast wildlife this past weekend.  Beggar the dolphin was found dead and Mote Marine Lab scientists found several fishing hooks and line inside the animal.  That's what makes a weekend event so important.  On Saturday, volunteers will be collecting old fishing line, hooks and other items that could potentially harm our wildlife.
