SARASOTA - Several ABC 7 viewers have sent in photos of small funnel clouds seen around the Suncoast as storms moved through the area Friday morning.

MANATEE COUNTY - Wild weather spawned funnel clouds over the Suncoast and caused damage to at least one mobile home Monday night.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has issued a Tornado Watch in effect until 7pm for all counties in the ABC 7 viewing area, including Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Hardee, and DeSoto.
11 P.M. : More storms may develop in the Gulf of Mexico and move our way through Saturday. Could see an additional 1-2 inches of rainfall through Saturday afternoon.
The National Weather Service has decided to keep the flood watch for Sarasota and Manatee Counties through Saturday in effect until 4 p.m. A complex storm system in the Gulf will continue to bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms on Saturday.

A cold front stretched across the upper Intermountain West, the central Plains, the upper Midwest and the Great Lakes on Monday. As warm, muggy air collided with this frontal boundary, numerous clusters of thunderstorms developed across the country. Strong to severe thunderstorms popped up over the central Plains, as severe thunderstorm warnings were issued in southeast Colorado and western Kansas. A funnel cloud was reported 5 miles northeast of Lamar, Colorado, while 1.25 inch sized hail was reported in Lamar. Severe thunderstorms also impacted the nation's midsection, as severe thunderstorm warnings were issued in Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. Lawrenceville, Illinois, reported a midday total of 2.07 inches of rain, while Champaign, Illinois, recorded wind speeds of 58 mph. Meanwhile, severe thunderstorm watches were issued along the eastern end of the frontal boundary over the northern Mid-Atlantic and southern New England. Mt. Washington, New Hampshire, recorded wind speeds of 69 mph, while Johnstown, Pennsylvania, reported a midday total of 1.05 inches of rain.
