BRADENTON, FL - Police say a Southeast High School football player who was loitering at a community center was taken into custody on a gun charge.
BRADENTON - A week after the assassination of a man at a youth football practice, Bradenton Police struggle to develop new leads in a crime that hundreds of people witnessed. The case took a new turn with the arrest of the victim's son after a traffic stop that BPD says revealed two assault rifles and a 9mm pistol in a stolen car.
Bradenton, FL-On Monday, August 5, 2013, at approximately 3:48 p.m., Bradenton Police Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of 24th Street East, Bradenton, FL in regard to a complaint of shots fired. Upon arrival, it was discovered that unknown suspect(s) had fired multiple rounds at a residence. There were occupants inside the residence at the time of the shooting, but there were no injuries sustained. Witnesses advised that a green pick-up truck had driven by the residence with 4 – 5 armed subjects in the truck’s bed. The armed subjects were described as holding long rifles, which was consistent with the large caliber projectile casings that were recovered at the scene.
Officials with the 13th Avenue Dream Center hosted an emergency meeting for parents and their kids who witnessed the shooting death of 39-year-old Brenton Coleman Sr.
