Tiger the cat was 'wheeled' into Cat Depot, a nonprofit rescue, adoption, education and resource center, Sarasota, FL, and relinquished by its senior owner who had to move into an assisted living facility. After a medical exam, the veterinary staff weighed the large tabby cat who tipped the scale at a whopping 35 pounds. Tiger was immediately placed on a carefully monitored diet program with a goal of losing one pound per month. Although he has no health issues, the cat has difficulty walking due to his tremendous size and can only take a few steps at a time. Tiger is available for adoption and ready for visitors in Cat Depot's chubby cat suite.
