SARASOTA, FL - The state law that bans texting and driving will go into effect on Oct. 1.

The law considers texting while driving  a secondary violation, meaning you must be pulled over for another offense to be fined.

ABC 7 Reporter Bobeth Yates is taking a closer look at how law officers on the Suncoast will be enforcing the new rule.
