Suncoast hospitals part of $7.6 billion deal

VENICE, FL - A major hospital buyout worth $7.6 billion dollars includes Venice Regional Medical Center.

Community Health Systems Inc. has agreed to purchase Venice Regional's current owner, Health Management Associates.

HMA also owns Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda and Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte, all of them are part of the buyout.
