SARASOTA COUNTY - Both the Riverview High School boys basketball team and the football team are taking a hit this week as point guard and quarterback Dom Marino is transferring out.

ABC 7 has learned he is transferring to Venice High School.

Marino is a standout quarterback on the Rams football team where he was a duel threat: as an excellent passer he throws one of the truest passes in the area, and he is also a good running QB, which will serve him well at Venice.

He will be a senior when next football season rolls around.

He would replace Kale Youtzy at Venice, who is graduating after receiving all-state honorable recognition.
