The 12-year veteran catcher was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico on June 3, 1975 and spent time with the Cubs, Angels, Yankees and Blue Jays before signing a one-year contract with the Rays following the 2011 season.

Molina was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 14th round of the 1993 June draft and made his Major League Debut with Chicago on September 6, 1999. Molina signed with the Los Angeles Angels as a minor league free agent prior to the 2001 season and spent seven years with the organization before being traded to the New York Yankees during the 2007 season.

With the Yankees, Molina hit the last home run in the original Yankee Stadium. Following the 2009 season, Molina signed with the Toronto Blue Jays and spent two seasons there.

During his career, he has thrown out over 37 percent of attempted base stealers, and pitchers have combined for a 3.94 ERA when throwing to him. Both of those figures rank in the top five among active catchers (min. 500 games). He and his brothers Bengie and Yadier have all won two World Series apiece, the only set of three brothers to all have a World Series ring in major league history.
