Venice Indians repeat as state baseball champs

FT. MYERS, Fla.  - The Venice Indians baseball team cruised to a 2nd straight Class 7A championship Saturday at JetBlue Park in Ft. Myers.

The Indians scored a season-high 14 runs in a 14-4 victory over Haines City.

Pitcher Brandon Elmy got the victory and also had 2 RBI's in the game.

Venice advanced to the championship game Friday night with a 4-0 win over Tallahassee Chiles, their 3rd straight shutout in the playoffs.
