MANATEE COUNTY - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie recently signed with the Denver Broncos to play defense for the Peyton Manning-led team. But this weekend, the cornerback will give back to his home of Manatee County with several star-studded events.

Dominique ran track and played football while graduating from Lakewood Ranch High School. He is a Pro Bowl cornerback in the NFL who went to the Super Bowl with the Cardinals in 2009.

This weekend he and his friends will gather together to host a fashion show Friday night. "I'm kind of a guy who loves to just put on clothes. And even with my mom, she always liked to just liked to be a part of this modeling. So we’re just taking people from the 941 area, putting them in clothes and letting them have fun."

Then on Saturday evening at Palmetto High School, players like Super Bowl hero Anquan Boldin, Michael Vick of the Eagles and Southeast High grad Mike Jenkins of the Cowboys will play a celebrity slam jam basketball game, at 6:30. "It’s an opportunity to come back home and fellowship with friends and family, and people I grew up with, and just bring guys you see every day on TV to my hometown to have fun."

Rodgers-Cromartie also puts on a kids clinic over the summer. This year that will be right before he teams up with Peyton Manning in Denver for the 2013 season. "I think it is going to be a fun time, and very competitive. You know you have a quarterback like Peyton Manning with the weapons he has…just signing Wes Welker, and Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker the receivers there…I think it’s going to be a lot of competition and fun times out there."
