SAN DIEGO - It was the Major League debut that baseball players dream about. Sarasota's Casey Kelly pitched for the first time in the majors Monday night, as the Padres hosted the Braves.

The former Sarasota High star was a first round pick of the Red Sox, and was later traded to San Diego. His family was at the game to witness his debut. In fact, it was his dad's birthday.

Kelly pitched six innings of shutout ball, allowing three hits, two walks, and striking out four as he collected his first Win. He also picked up his first Major League hit.

What a night for Kelly as the Padres beat the braves 3-0.
