BRADENTON, Fla. - Coach Paul Maechtle is going out a winner. The Seminoles upset the playoff bound Palmetto Tigers on Friday night to give the legendary head coach his 280th career win.

Maechtle announced earlier in the week that he would be retiring at the end of this season. He leaves the sideline after 33 years as head coach at the high school.  Appearing in five state championships, Maechtle brought home two trophies in 1993 and 1994.

Another big story on Friday night was that Port Charlotte could not end the year perfect. Looking to go 9-0, the Pirates were upset by Chad Rex and the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs 14-13. Port Charlotte, however, is still headed to the playoffs.

Here is next week's playoff schedule.

Be sure to tune in next Friday night at 11:15 for the most highlights and scores from our local teams heading into the first round on the post season.
