SARASOTA - On this Friday the 13th, we actually got lucky. Last week, multiple games were delayed and many canceled due to the weather. Tonight, mother nature played nice.

Speaking of playing nice, congratulations to Southeast's Courtney Allen. On Friday against Braden River, the senior broke the school's career rushing record, set in 1994. Unfortunately, Southeast lost its third straight. The Seminoles are now a surprising 0-3 on the season. Braden River improves to 2-0.

A heartbreaker for Sarasota tonight. The Sailors played well in the first half, but ended up slowing down in the second. They lost their home opener to Lincoln High School from Tallahassee.

Finally, Venice quarterback Dom Marino defeated his old team tonight as the Indians defeated Riverview 14-13. Marino transferred from Riverview to Venice last year. Venice improves to 2-1 after a heartbreaking loss to Manatee after giving up 35 unanswered points.
