2012 high school football playoff scenarios for November 2nd:

Class 8A-7:

-North Port & Riverview have been eliminated from playoffs

-Friday’s game between Palm Harbor University & East Lake will determine district champion and runner-up (Update: East Lake won)

Class 7A-10:

-Undefeated Manatee (2-0,8-0) is highly favored to clinch as district champs with a win over Sarasota (1-1,3-5). (Update: Manatee wins, is district champ)

Class 7A-11:

The district is still up for grabs.

-If Charlotte (2-0,5-3) defeats Port Charlotte (1-1,6-2), and Lemon Bay (1-1,5-3) defeats Gulf Coast (0-2,2-6), then Charlotte and Lemon Bay make the playoffs.

-If Charlotte and Gulf Coast win, then Charlotte are district champs and the other three teams face off in a three way playoff for runner-up.

-If Port Charlotte and Lemon Bay win, those teams would face off in a three way playoff with Charlotte to determine champion and runner up. (Update: This is the scenario that played out.  All three teams face off in three-way tiebreaker at Port Charlotte on Monday.  Charlotte plays a one-quarter game against Lemon Bay, loser is eliminated, and winner plays Port Charlotte in another one-quarter game to determine district champ.)

-If Port Charlotte and Gulf Coast win, Charlotte and Port Charlotte would play a playoff game to determine district champ and runner-up.
