SARASOTA, Fla. - In the beginning, there were ten. Now there are four.

Six teams from the Suncoast lost Friday night in the first round of post season action. Manatee, Hardee, Port Charlotte and Booker are the remaining teams.

Next week, Manatee will travel to Ft. Pierce and play the Cobras. Central easily defeated Riverview Friday night 45-0.

After defeating Island Coast on the road 33-27, Marlon Mack and the Booker Tornadoes will play Hardee, while Port Charlotte will host Melbourne.

In perhaps the most heartbreaking game on Friday evening, the Cardinal Mooney Cougars lost 35-34 to St. Pete Catholic. With under 90 seconds to go, the Cougars scored to stay within one point, but due to a 15-yard excessive celebration penalty, a long extra point attempt was missed. No doubt, the Cougars will roar back next year, with quarterback Reese Vita coming back.
