TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Florida State University fans and alumni took over the Florida Capitol.

They celebrated the 2013 National Championship with performances from the Marching Chiefs, cheerleaders and Golden Girls. Current lawmakers who are FSU alumni were recognized. Coach Jimbo Fisher presented House Speaker Will Weatherford with a Florida State jersey.

"At Florida State we are on top of our game," said FSU Interim President Garnett Stokes, "and we are champions on and off the field."

Coach Fisher had good things to say about his winning team.

"This team was truly one heartbeat," said Coach Fisher. "It was one team, one heartbeat, and they cared about each other and created the family atmosphere and culture which we try to thrive around at Florida State."

Some of the players were there as well, including Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston. Lawmakers were able to take pictures with the team as well as the National Championship and Heisman Trophies.
