This past week Capt. Jamie Smith was tarpon fishing with Noelle Leverentz near the shoal just outside of New Pass in Sarasota. They hooked up 115 pound tarpon about 50 yards from shore. The water was about 6ft. deep and an estimated 14 ft. hammerhead shark attacked the fish. There have been several reports of these tarpon getting attacked recently in Suncoast waters.
