BALTIMORE (AP) — The Washington Nationals' first error in 13 games was costly. Shortstop Ian Desmond made an error in the third inning to let in an unearned run that was the difference in the Nationals' 4-3 loss to Baltimore, which won two of three in the Battle of the Beltways series.

NEW YORK (AP) — The Atlanta Braves climbed back into a first-place tie with Washington atop the NL East by ending their four-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Mets. Aaron Harang allowed four hits in seven innings in ending the Mets' four-game win streak.

NEW YORK (AP) — Chicago White Sox pitcher Chris Sale and Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo were voted by fans onto the rosters for Tuesday's All-Star game. In another change, Los Angeles Angels shortstop Erick Aybar (EYE'-bar) will replace Kansas City outfielder Alex Gordon, who has a sprained wrist.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — All-Star Scott Kazmir struck out nine in seven scoreless innings to help the Oakland Athletics win the annual Bay Bridge series by beating the San Francisco Giants 6-1. Josh Donaldson hit a two-run homer and Stephen Vogt drove in three runs for the A's, who won three of four from the Giants and improved baseball's best record to 58-34.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Green Bay Packers had another year of record revenues, yet income fell after making some high-priced player moves. The NFL's only publicly owned team said revenue rose 5 percent from 2013 to $324 million, but total expenses increased nearly 18 percent to $298 million, leaving a net income of around $26 million.
