SARASOTA CO., FL - Residents in North Port and Venice paused Wednesday morning to remember the victims of the 9/11 attacks.

In Venice, a ceremony was held at Patriots Park, the site of a monument that features a beam pulled from the wreckage of the World Trade Center.

In North Port, crowds gathered near Main St. as first responders paid respect to their counterparts who gave their lives in New York City 12 years ago.

7 South Newsroom Reporter Josh Taylor is covering the story, and will bring you more.
