SARASOTA, Fla. -- One Sarasota man's unique advertising campaign is turning heads along 17th Street.

The owner of a well-known home with piles of firewood for sale recently set up a hand-made sign along the street advertising home grown plants for sale: tomato plants are just 25 cents, and marijuana plants are $1.

The cultivation and sale of marijuana plants is illegal in Florida.

However, ABC 7's Bobeth Yates stopped by to talk to the man Thursday, and he explained that the sign is a joke.

He says the juvenile tomato plants he has for sale resemble marijuana plants.  So he decided he's charge $1 to anybody that thought they were marijuana, and 25 cents to those who could correctly identify the plants.
