MANATEE CO., FL - A former Manatee High School football coach facing battery charges will be tried eight separate times.

Attorneys for Rod Frazier asked a judge to give him separate trials so that prosecutors must now convince eight separate juries of his guilt.

Frazier is charged with battery and interference of a student's attendance for eight students and co-workers.

Prosecutors say they will move forward with all eight of the trials.

Four school officials have also been charged for not reporting the alleged battery to the state.

ABC 7 Reporter Bobeth Yates will bring you more on this story.
