ENGLEWOOD, Fla. - Thousands are expected to hit the beaches in Englewood to watch the power boats and take in the festivities this weekend.

It's the first annual Charlotte Harbor Super Boat Grand Prix. 40,000 to 80,000 are expected to come out to the beaches along Englewood. Bringing an estimated $8-$10 million impact on the local community.

Friday crews were busy setting up. A parade will take place in Punta Gorda at 4pm. Saturday there will be live music, food and drink at Englewood Beach Park. Sunday the races start at noon. Nearly 30 boats will be competing.

There are 12 off site parking areas with shuttles. If you want to find where they are go to www.chsbgp.com

We will have a live report coming up this evening on ABC 7.
