SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. - A local group is trying to revitalize a plan to fix up an old abandoned water tank and turn it into an art center.

The tank sits empty on Blackburn Point Rd. The idea was floated around years ago but has recently resurfaced. The county which owns the facility is ready to start fixing up the Blackburn Point park. The tank could be torn down.

Instead those calling themselves the "Think Tank Friends" are giving it one last push. They believe structure could actually be turned into a new waterfront studio, workshop, and gathering place.

We will have much more on this story coming up this evening on ABC 7 @ 5:30. You can also inquire about the project by emailing Mario Messina at saveandprotect@aol.com
