CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FL (WWSB) - A multi-jurisdictional investigation into the December death of a Charlotte County resident, led to the arrest of a Wisconsin man.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, Wyatt S. Cox died after using a prescription nasal spray bottle that contained Cyclopropyl Fentany in a Charlotte County residence.
Deputies say Cox ordered the bottle online from a company in Boscobel, Wisonsin and was traced back to the residence of Michael S. Schoenmann.
According to deputies, a search warrant was executed at Schoenmann’s home in Wisconsin and deputies say they found 180 grams of powder Fentanyl. In addition, mailing labels, a tub in which Schoenmann was diluting the powder Fentanyl and bottling the liquid, hundreds of nasal spray containers and fraudulent nasal spray labels were seized. The labels and containers matched the label and container from the nasal spray container retrieved from Cox’s pocket.
Michael S. Schoenmann was arrested and held without bond after appearing in court on Monday, March 12.
Schoenmann could face up to 20 years in prison on the Fentanyl possession charge and additional charges are expected.
