PALM BAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A Central Florida man is facing charges after investigators say he was caught on camera have sex repeatedly with a family dog.

Florida Today reports Joshua Lee Webicki, 22, was arrested January 3, 2014at a Palm Bay Papa John's restaurant where he worked. He is now charged with animal cruelty after investigators say Webicki was caught on camera having sex on multiple occasions with a German Shepherd mix.

The newspaper reports the dog is described as a "family pet" and police say Werbicki lives at the same home where the alleged crime happened. Brevard County Animal Services Sgt. Michael Healy said the dog belonged to the man’s roommate, and remains in her custody. Healy said the police notified his agency, and they’re waiting for the police to finish their work on the case. Healy said his agency could potentially seek an injunction to have the pizza guy banned from owning, or living with, any type of animals in Brevard County.

Police documents show the owner of the dog told police the pet has been limping noticeably, signs of physical injury caused by the activity. Police say the dog has been showing signs of fear when approached by family members.

Police say the sexual acts were recorded by in-home surveillance cameras.

Werbicki was arrested and booked on charges of cruelty to animals and sexual acts involving animals. Court records show cruelty to animals is a felony crime, while sex with animals is a misdemeanor.
