PORT CHARLOTTE, FL-Detectives throughout Charlotte County are working multiple vehicle burglaries in which unlocked vehicles are being entered and small, loose items are being taken.

In the Englewood area, several unlocked vehicles parked at three homes on streets off Foresman Blvd. have been entered during overnight hours.  Items taken include GPS units and a purse.

Detectives in the Port Charlotte area are working at least eight nighttime vehicle burglaries that occurred on streets in an area bounded by Veterans Blvd., Hinton Street, Peachland Blvd., and Vannell Street.  Items taken included GPS units, electronics, wallets and small change.

Similar overnight burglaries of unlocked vehicles have taken place in the Deep Creek area at seven homes located on streets in the area of Rampart Blvd. and Rio de Janeiro Avenue.  Similar types of items, such as electronics, purses, wallets and jewelry, were taken.

As always, residents are urged to lock their vehicles and not to leave items in their vehicles.  Anyone with information on any of their burglaries are asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
