BRADENTON, Fla. - A pickup truck attempting to stop at a railroad crossing ended up getting smashed by a train.

It happened at the intersection of 63rd Avenue East and 17th Street East, just after 6 p.m. Monday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of the truck, 49-year-old David Pozos, was attempting to stop at the railroad crossing when the lights started flashing.  Pozos applied his brakes but they failed and the truck rolled onto the tracks.

The train hit the right side of the truck and pushed the vehicle 41 feet up the railroad tracks into the eastbound lane.  Pozos was not hurt, but he was charged with no driver license and obedience to traffic control devices.
