SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - Sarasota County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested three men for the theft of more than $800 in rods and reels from West Marine in Sarasota.

Patrol deputies responded to 1860 S. Tamiami Trail just before 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, for reports of a theft.  The store manager told investigators that the suspect grabbed several rods and reels before jumping into a dark-colored van, and speeding off. The alert manager was able to see the license plate number before the van fled.
The sheriff's office said an off-duty deputy travelling north on I-75 located the suspect vehicle and made a traffic stop at the intersection of Laurel and Pinebrook in Nokomis.
Using the surveillance video, detectives identified Keith Gordon, 31, as the suspect. The driver of the van, Brian Heeter, 26, and passenger Eric Delgado, 27, were also seen in the surveillance video.
Deputies observed the stolen merchandise inside the vehicle and placed the three suspects under arrest.
Gordon, of Sarasota, is charged with Grand Theft. Heeter and Delgado, both of Bradenton, were charged with Principle to Grand Theft.
