Synthetic drugs seized from Charlotte County convenience store

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL-The Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Unit served a search warrant Tuesday at an El Jobean convenience store, seizing several packages of synthetic drugs and arresting two store employees.

On July 29 at about 10:00 am, the Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at the Chevron station located at 4048 El Jobean Road in the El Jobean area of Port Charlotte to search for synthetic cannabinoids.  During their search, they located nine (9) foil packets that contained a substance that tested positive for synthetic marijuana in a back room.

The clerk on duty at the time was identified as Radhakrishna Sureddy, 40, of 2036 Sadnet Lane in North Port.  According to reports, on three separate occasions prior to the search warrant, undercover operatives had purchased packages of the synthetic drugs from Sureddy.  One of those occasions was earlier Tuesday morning.

Another store employee, Simon Sanu, 41, of 4123 Hollis Avenue in Port Charlotte, was also arrested Tuesday on charges that, on July 23, he had sold a package of synthetic marijuana to an undercover operative.

Sureddy was charged with multiple counts of Sale of Synthetic Cannabinoids, Possession of Synthetic Cannibinoids and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He is being held at the Charlotte County Jail on a total $24,000 bond.

Sanu was charged with a single count each of Sale of Synthetic Cannabinoids, Possession of Synthetic Cannibinoids and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He is being held on a total $17,000 bond.
