SARASOTA, Fla. -- The annual Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Visitor and Economic Impact Study was released today, detailing this year’s July 3-6 event.

Some 113,000 people attended events related to the Grand Prix — with about 89 percent of out-of-county attendees of the Grand Prix coming to Sarasota mainly because of the race rather than the July 4th holiday.

The total combined expenditures of out-of-town attendees and participants came to $9,574,300.

The overall economic impact of out-of-county attendees and donors to the 2014 Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix is $17, 228,300.
