SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) -  Where are people moving? Ft. Myers, Sarasota and Austin, Texas, according to this new survey:

The immediate past Chairman of the Visit Sarasota County Board of Directors says he's not surprised.

"I think it's a combination of fabulous amenities which we know we have if you're a local, but it's also about that outbound push: Often our first visitor who becomes a resident is a tourist. And I have to give a shout-out to our visitors bureau because without them I don't think we'd be seeing the kind of numbers we have," said Drayton Saunders.

The website, Homes.com,  cited the following about Sarasota:

"Nestled on Florida's Gulf Coast, Sarasota is an attractive destination for retirees and millennials alike, more so than other Floridian cities. Sarasota's population grew by 10.74 percent from 2011-2015. The area has invested in improving quality of life factors including Sarasota's parks, schools, and social services to better serve its growing population."
