ST. PETERSBURG, Fl. - St. Pete Police have arrested a woman for DUI and child neglect for leaving her 8-year-old in a vehicle while she drank at a bar for hours.

Officers were called to the Tryst Lounge at 240 Beach Drive N.E. at about 3 a.m. Monday on a disturbance call. When officers arrived, a crowd of people were standing outside pointing to 36-year-old Krastina Yankova Gesheva, who was in a 2010 silver Mercedes in front of the lounge.

Witnesses told the officers that she had struck two parked cars as she was backing out and was trying to leave the area. Officers approached the car and noted that Gesheva's 8-year-old son was in the car with her at the time.

Witnesses told officers that Gesheva had been seen in the lounge drinking for about 4 hours and that her son had been seen sitting in her car alone during that time. They also said that periodically the son would exit the car and come into the bar to look for his mother.

Gesheva was arrested and charged with DUI and Child Neglect. Her blood alcohol content was later determined to be 0.177%.

Officers arrange for a guardian to take custody of the child.
