TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Florida A&M University is one step closer to have a new president.

Two finalists are meeting now, Wednesday morning, with the Board of Trustees.

Those finalists, Elmira Mangum, vice president for budget and planning at Cornell University, and John Price, former founding president, University of North Texas at Dallas, will also attend an open forum Wednesday afternoon with FAMU students, faculty, and alumni.

The afternoon forum is open to the public. It will be held 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. At Jake Gaither Gymnasium on the campus of Florida A&M University.

Mangum and Price are expected to discuss during the forum their vision for the university and to take questions from attendees.

A web cast and call-in line will be made available for those who cannot attend. To join the forum by phone, call 1-877-884-1929 (Conference ID: 31273871) or you can watch online at http://www.famu.edu/famcast.

Dr. Larry Robinson has served as Interim President of Florida A&M University since the August 2012 resignation of former president, Dr. James Ammons. Ammons resignation was among several departures from the University following the 2011 hazing death of Marching 100 drum major Robert Champion.
