“We appreciate the passion of visitors who love Florida beaches and recommend them to others through TripAdvisor,” said VISIT FLORIDA Chief Marketing Officer Paul Phipps. “The Sunshine State has 825 miles of beaches, and they all have won people’s hearts — from the wild beauty you find at St. George Island to the urban sophistication of Miami’s South Beach.”

The rankings come in the midst of VISIT FLORIDA’s push to draw in a record-breaking 100 million visitors to the Sunshine State. VISIT FLORIDA is the state’s official tourism marketing agency.

This comes after a previous record-breaking 2013 when Florida recorded the arrival of 94.7 million visitors. Growing tourism, and funding for tourism marketing, has been one of the top priorities for Governor Rick Scott.

Governor Rick Scott has charged state leaders to help grow tourism and attract 100 million visitors by the end of 2014. Governor Scott is also pushing lawmakers to approve $100 million to promote the state's tourism industry.

"Three years of record-breaking visitation and a record number of tourism-related jobs proves that tourism continues to be a vital force in Florida," said Tammy Gustafson, Chair of the VISIT FLORIDA Board of Directors. "it also proves that our industry is directly tied to Florida's economic growth. This means we cannot let go of our effort to continuously advance Florida tourism."

State leaders say every 85 visitors to Florida creates one job.
