ORLANDO, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida Governor Rick Scott has signed into law a bill that would provide three sales tax holidays in 2014.

Scott signed the bill Monday at the annual Governor's hurricane Conference. House Bill 5601 includes a nine-day sales tax holiday on hurricane preparation supplies, beginning May 31.

The measure also authorizes a three day tax holiday for the sale of school supplies. During that holiday, shoppers would not have to pay sales taxes on clothing purchases worth $100 or less.  School supplies worth $15 or less, and the first $750 of any personal computer purchase.

The bill also includes a three day sales tax holiday in September on the purchase of energy efficient appliances.  The legislation completely eliminates taxes on children's bike helmets.
