Mother and son arrested in FDLE drug bust

QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL)-- A mother and her son are behind bars after a drug bust in Quincy. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested Karime Hasan Halim and her son Nayef Mahamud Halim after a month-long investigation.

They're accused of selling synthetic marijuana at two locations, Kelly's Junior on the 800 block of Havana Highway and the Country Store on the 5600 block of Bainbridge Highway. 802 bags of synthetic marijuana valued at more than $20,000 were collected. Investigators also seized $60,000 in currency, firearms and counterfeit designer apparel.

They are charged with felony possession of synthetic narcotics with intent to sell, manufacture and deliver and use or display of a firearm during commission of a felony. Both are being held in the Gadsden County Jail on $15,000 bond.
