Jacksonville, FL - A man who fatally shot an unarmed teenager is set to be tried for his murder in Jacksonville on Monday.

Michael Dunn shot and killed 17 year old Jordan Davis, in November of 2012. Dunn claimed that he shot the teen in self defense but investigators didn't find any weapons in the vehicle that he was riding in.

The Jacksonville State Attorney, Angela Corey is trying to case. Coincidentally, she is the same prosecutor of George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin.

The case is getting international attention with protesters gathering outside of the courthouse in Jacksonville where jury selection is underway.

During questioning, Dunn told police that he asked Davis and three other teens, who were parked next to him at a Jacksonville gas station, to turn down their music. Dunn said he heard threats from the teens and saw a gun in their car.

He said he feared for his safety, and that's why he grabbed his weapon and fired into the vehicle.

Police say that they found no guns inside the teens' vehicle and that Dunn fired his gun eight or nine times.

Dunn has been charged with first-degree murder in Davis' death and also faces three counts of attempted first-degree murder for shooting at the three others in the vehicle. He has entered a plea of not guilty.

Robin Lemonidis, who is leading the defense for Dunn said that her client was reacting to what he said was a gun being drawn.

"When all the evidence has been flushed out, I believe that it will be extremely clear that Mr. Dunn acted as any responsible firearm owner would have under the same circumstances," Lemonidis said.
