Governor Rick Scott promotes an end to human trafficking

Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL) - This week Governor Rick Scott will visit prevention and recovery facilities throughout Florida to discuss increased funding for human traficking awareness and prevention. Scott will be making stops in Tampa and Miami to highlight his initiative to end human trafficking.

In this year's budget, Governor Scott committed 3 million for safe houses and rehabilitative services to help those victimized by human trafficking. In addition, the budget also provided $6 million to recruit volunteers to represent more than 2,000 vulnerable children through court proceedings, and $2 million was allotted to the PACE Center for Girls.
