CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — Kids in central Florida can get a free fishing lesson from some of Florida's wildlife experts.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is hosting the Kids' Fishing Clinic on Saturday in Cape Canaveral. The event is for children between the ages of five and 15.

A commission statement says the clinic will teach children "a lifelong hobby, instilling appreciation for Florida's marine environment and providing fun, family outings."

Fishing equipment and bait will be provided during the clinic. The lesson will be held at Port Canaveral Cruise Terminal #3.

Students will learn the basics of environmental stewardship, fishing ethics, angling skills and safety.

These clinics are sponsored in part by Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration.
